16 April 2020. Kersting’groundnut, commonly called Doyiwé is a neglected crop, which is being Doyiwe project aimed at improving productivity and marketability of kersting’s groundnut.
promoted by the the consortium composed of Researchers from the University of Abomey-Calavi (FSA / UAC and the University of Wageningen (WUR) in the Netherlands, the Sustainable Agriculture Development Network (REDAD), Benin Agribusiness Incubation Hub (BAIH (Sarl), and coordinated by SOJAGNON.

The implementation of this project enabled the research team to:

  • Select cultivars meeting both farmers and consumers’ preferences
  • Supply quality seeds of selected varieties and
  • Design appropriate marketing strategies in order to make the product accessible to all.

After successful training of seed producers on good agronomic practices for the production of improved Doyiwé seeds, the Project partners organized a Doyiwe seed fair and awarded the best producers who respected good practices and obtained higher yield.
This ten-minute documentary presents the key activities of the fair and the achievements of the projects .
