Fostering rural transformation through the Digital Villages Initiative in Africa

Wednesday 15 December 2021, 14:00 – 16:00 GMT

As part of the corporate 1 000 Digital Villages Initiatives of FAO, a pilot Digital Villages Initiative has been launched in Africa, under the leadership of FAO’s Regional Office for Africa (FAORAF) in partnership with relevant FAO country offices. Scoping studies were undertaken and some initial activities have started to prepare the ground for the full launch of the project.

 

A public bilingual webinar will be organized by FAORAF about the project. Its objectives are to:

 

  • Introduce stakeholders to the Pilot DVI Africa project and initial activities implemented
  • Share countries’ perspectives and initial lessons learned
  • Collect recommendations, mobilise interest and partnership for the full deployment of the initiative
