Call for expression of interest – side events/workshops RUFORUM 4th biennial conference

RUFORUM is organizing 4th Biennial Conference focusing on African Higher Education Week – Celebrating the contribution of universities and partners to Africa’s Agricultural Development. The conference will take place from 21st – 25th July, 2014 in Maputo, Mozambique.

RUFORUM welcomes interested organisations who are willing to convene side events as pre/post conference events or as half day events running concurrent with the main Biennial Conference programme. The side event should  address any of the sub-themes of the Biennial Conference and linking the deliberations to what is happening globally.

The sub themes include:

  •  Regional collaboration and Agricultural Science Partnerships
  • Integration of Tertiary Agricultural Education (TAE) with national agricultural systems and plans
  • Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for Tertiary Agricultural Education  and Agricultural Research for Development
  • Strengthening agricultural science research in universities
  • Increasing access to higher education in agriculture
  • Innovations for sustainable cropping and livestock production systems within value chains that improve smallholder incomes.
Side event Summary Submission
Interested organisations should provide a brief concept note of the side event they propose. This will include title, brief background, rationale, objectives, expected outcomes, approach and programme. The concept note should indicate the number of participants they will fund for the side event (a minimum of 10 participants).
The concept note should be emailed to Sylvia Mkandawire – s.chindime@ruforum.org not later that 30th April 2014.
A notification of acceptance will be sent only to the successful applicants/ organisation only.
