Agrinatura News

Dear Agrinatura Association members,

it was a week full of interaction – collaboration and networking!

We would like to express our deepest appreciation to all for their participation at the Agrinatura General Assembly 2019 on 15-16 May at Agro-Bio Tech in Gembloux Belgium.

Acknowledgement and our thanks go to the host University of Liége, and inparticular to Dean Professor Fréderic Francis, to Laurent de Potter, and to the whole organisational team. We thank all participants from Agrinatura member institutions and from our stakeholder organisations.

Because of your high level of participation, we were able to adopt new statutes of the Association and thus enhance future functioning of the organisation. This will lead to better collaboration, a channelling of our efforts, and development of our Association.

We take this opportunity to express our warm welcome to our new members (ISTOM, CREA, LUKE, Royal Tropical Institute KIT, and University of Reading) from five European countries, as well as a new Board of Director member, Professor Pacsal Boeckx (UGhent). We believe that they will be enormous assets for the whole of Agrinatura.

This year’s GA workshops addressed global development with two important topics: 1) Agro-forestry with an agro-ecology approach and 2) Green chemical processes applied for both agricultural and forest co-products.  Many thanks for the stimulating presentations during these sessions.

Next General Assembly will be kindly hosted at University College Cork in Ireland for two days during the week of 18 – 22. May 2020. We are looking forward to meeting you all there!

Sincerely

Carolyn Glynn and Tereza Slámová

Agrinatura President and Secretary General
