The FAO Strategic Framework 2022-2031 identifies science, technology, and innovation (STI) as having enormous transformative potential (particularly emerging technologies), while also recognizing that STI presents risks. Innovation is considered a central driving force for achieving a world free from hunger and malnutrition.

Based on the foregoing, the FAO Regional Office for Africa (RAF) partnered with the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA) to undertake stakeholder engagement to respond to key questions related to FAO’s science innovation strategy. Leveraging FARA’s platform and mandate, the online discussion, among others, identified key informants and stakeholders who have provided valuable feedback so far. The main objective of this consultative webinar is to discuss and validate the strategy and feedback from African stakeholders.
