ARD-Alliance Workshop in Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) 11-13 March 2013

IAO staff attended the meeting on water in agriculture organized within ERA-ARD II project and FARA with the support of the Ministry of Scientific Research and Innovation of Burkina Faso. The aim was to promote and set the basis for Agricultural Research for Development (ARD) alliances between European and African research stakeholders on the theme “Sustainable water management for food security”. Researchers, farmers organisations, universities, government and donors exchanged views and worked together to define research themes and the organisation requested for their implementation. The working groups concentrated on rain-fed agriculture, small reservoirs, large irrigation systems and alliances policy.
