The informal stakeholder consultation “Improving the quality and effectiveness of development cooperation with African agricultural knowledge organisations” was organised by the European Commission in Brussels.

The report documents the discussions of the meeting “Improving the quality and effectiveness of development cooperation with African agricultural knowledge organisations” organised by the European Commission in Brussels on March 2012.
The meeting was prepared through interactions with the EC, WB, and African Organisations to finetune the agenda and the programme.

The meeting was attended by 42 participants from African agricultural research, education and advisory service organisations, Development Partners, and EU agricultural knowledge organisations.

The expected outputs of the meeting were :

• Raised awareness of meeting participants of the value and synergies of African continental
and sub-regional leading organizations linked to agricultural research, advisory services, and
tertiary agricultural education in support to the objectives of CAADP;

• Deepened understanding of the challenges and opportunities of African continental and subregional
leading organizations linked to agricultural research, advisory services, and tertiary
agricultural education to support the objectives of CAADP;

• Recommendations made to donors and Development Partners organisations on how to
increase effectiveness of their support to agricultural research, advisory services, and tertiary
agricultural education in support to the objectives of CAADP.
