There will be two prizes of 100,000 USD in 2018. Although it is termed “Agriculture Prize” the constituency of agriculture is taken in its broadest sense – for biomass production and the food and non-food value chains. Please see the attached Terms and Conditions for more details and the previous Laureates are outlined on the attached flyer. The closing date for nomination is 30 April 2018. Please circulate the notice below with the two attachments to your Standing Committee colleagues.

We are very keen to attract nominations from countries with developing and emerging economies now that we have a prize for a Laureate specifically for those countries. The Terms and Conditions for Submitting a Nomination which have been revised since the 2017 Call.

In 2018 there will be two GCHERA World Agriculture Prizes awarded, each of 100,000 USD. At least one prize will be awarded to a person from a country which is NOT listed as a country with a developed economy. Deadline for submitting nominations is 17.00 GMT on 30 April 2018.
The Prizes aim to encourage the global development of the mission of higher education institutions in education, research, innovation and outreach in the agricultural and life sciences by recognizing the distinguished contribution of an individual to this mission. The prizes are generously sponsored by the Education Development Foundation of Nanjing Agricultural University and Da Bei Nong Group.
