This annual event is jointly organised by a consortium of renowned institutions, including the universities of Berlin, Bonn, Göttingen, Hohenheim, Kassel-Witzenhausen, ZALF e.V. (Germany), Ghent University (Belgium), Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (Czech Republic), BOKU Vienna (Austria), and the Council for Tropical and Subtropical Research (ATSAF e.V.), in collaboration with GIZ’s Fund for International Agricultural Research (FIA).
Tropentag 2025 will focus on how agriculture can respond to global pressures—like climate change, urbanisation, and resource scarcity—while safeguarding the health of our planet. The conference will explore how to balance agricultural productivity with environmental sustainability, emphasising soil and water management, resilient land use, and integrated farming systems. Key discussions will address the role of policies, market tools, and knowledge transfer in creating sustainable land systems, with a strong focus on gender equity, social inclusion, and the contributions of women, youth, and marginalised communities. By showcasing innovative practices and inclusive approaches, the conference aims to identify pathways toward resilient, equitable, and sustainable agricultural landscapes.
