Agrinatura General Assembly meeting will take place on May 20 – 21, 2020 in Cork, Ireland.

General Assembly COVID-19 ANNOUNCEMENT !!!

Dear Agrinatura Association,

In light of current events and after considering all aspects related to COVID-19, the Agrinatura Board of Directors made the decision that:

“this year the General Assembly’s face to face meeting hosted by Cork University College on 20-21st May 2020 will be cancelled”.

This decision, exclusively for the General Assembly 2020, was taken because of the unforeseeable and complex situation required exceptional action.

Agrinatura Board of Directors would instead conduct the meeting in the form of an electronic vote for business matters.

The vote will be open during the period early April until 15 May.

We will also have a two-hour online event on the 20th May 2020.

Voting will be conducted electronically (Voting Sheet doc.). Each member organisation’s representative will vote, sign the form and return to secretariat@agrinatura-eu.eu. The votes will be approved by a simple majority of votes cast.

General Assembly 2020 Cork

Save the date for the Agrinatura General Assembly (GA) on 20-21 May. This year’s GA is kindly hosted by the University College Cork in Ireland. The GA is followed by the EEIG Members Assembly Meeting on Friday 22 May.

There is a significant amount of new activity within Agrinatura and the aim of the GA is to engage our members in forthcoming initiatives. Please consider joining us for a few days of discussions on strategy and implementation. Your participation is greatly appreciated.

The GA workshops this year will address two key themes in sustainability within the food and related issues: 1) Sustainable Production and Consumption along Food Supply Chains and 2) Fostering Entrepreneurship for the Future. Registration and the preliminary program are found here: https://www.cubsucc.com/agrinatura-2020/

We will have the pleasure to present the Catholic University of Louvain and Polytechnic University of Madrid as a new candidate member and the vote for membership will take place at the GA. Another important event this year is that we elect the future President of Agrinatura (including the Agrinatura Association and the EEIG). The newly-elected candidate will serve as President-elect from May 2020 – May 2021 and as President from May 2021 – May 2025. Information about the nominated candidates will come in a separate correspondence.

There is an opening in the Board of Directors for the Association. If you would like to have the opportunity to influence knowledge for global development by serving as a member of the Board, send an e-mail to secretariat@agrinatura-eu.eu stating your interest and motivation before 1st April 2020. Board members serve for four years with the possibility for one additional period. Voting occurs at the GA.

There are two other meetings in conjunction with the GA:
The Agrinatura Board of Directors will have their annual meeting on 19th May. The Agrinatura EEIG (European Economic Interest Grouping) members will have a closed session of the Members Assembly Meeting on 22nd May.

As always, we look forward to seeing our old friends but we especially want to meet the representatives of our new member organizations and any new representatives from our present members. Do join us in Cork!
