AGRINATURA has been represented by its President and the Business Manager at Comittee on World Food Security (CFS) 40th session, which was held FAO Headquarters in Rome, October 7 – 11, 2013. The CFS was set up in 1974 and reformed in 2009 to be the most inclusive international and intergovernmental platform for all stakeholders to work together in ensuring food security and nutrition for all.
The Committee on World Food Security (CFS) was set up in 1974 as an intergovernmental body to serve as a forum for review and follow up of food security policies. In 2009 the Committee went through a reform process to ensure that the voices of other stakeholders were heard in the global debate on food security and nutrition. The vision of the reformed CFS is to be the most inclusive international and intergovernmental platform for all stakeholders to work together in a coordinated way to ensure food security and nutrition for all.
CFS is made up of Members, Participants and Observers.This year AGRINATURA has been included to the official list of CFS observers.
AGRINATURA participated on the Plenary sessions and various side events and encountered various representatives during the event such as: World Farmers Organization and GFAR representatives, who were invited to the Vienna´s conference and AGRINATURA GA in May 2014; FAO OCP representatives; Honorary President of ROPPA, representative of BMGF.
